For example, the Thelonious Monk medley that occupies one side of the album is pure Monk, but at the same time is very much Steve Khan. From the hesitant rhythm of "Evidence" to the repeated, fading four bar head of "Friday the 13th." The essence of both musicians is revealed. Reply

A record that has guitarist Steve Khan almost returning to straight small combo work – although still with some of the wider colors of the fusion modes he first unleashed in the 70s! The album's got a tight core group here – Khan on guitar, Anthony Jackson on bass, Dennis Chambers on. Reply

Sep 18,  · I've got this on vinyl. Very nice album, imho! A little glossy compared to Monk, who seems to take some of his glory from inglorious, modest tones. I've been trying--when it comes to mind--to get a fairly-priced copy of Khan's "Evidence" album for years. I believe it is all or mostly Monk tunes, performed on solo guitar. (Grain of salt, please.). Reply
