Junge Roemer works so well because in all its stylized glory it is ultimately so incredibly true to life. Musically, it contains just about as much filler as any of the first three Falco albums -- that would be a lot, but at least the title track in its Bowie-esque slickness is better than many of the singles that catapulted Falco .

There are much better Falco 'hits' collections to be had but the reason to seek out this CD is for the 3 extremely rare bonus tracks. The Salieri remix of "Rock Me Amadeus" is the version most Americans will recognize. This is the 8+ minute version that was included on the now out of print U.S. pressing of FALCO /5(6).

The 1st CD contains the original release of Einzelhaft, while the 2nd CD is a bonus CD containing an anniversary remix of "Nie Mehr Schule" and "That Scene", which is an English version of "Ganz Wien". The remix of "Nie Mehr Schule" is actually pretty good, but I didn't care much for "That Scene". I much prefer "Ganz Wien" as sung in German/5(37).

"Junge Roemer" (Young Romans) could be interpreted as a negative observation concerning the erosion of Italian culture if you ignore the video presentation of the opening track. Falco's exploration of Rome's nightlife gives you an unsettling view of how shallow Italians are, or would become in a world dominated by Ronald Reagan's rhetoric/5(22).
